Kamen Rider Gatack

Arata Kagamiys2

Arata Kagami (加賀美 新, Kagami Arata?, portrayed by Yuuki Sato) is Gatack's user. Joining ZECT two years to kill the Worm that murdered his younger brother Ryou Kagami, whom he made promise him to work hard to become a pitcher, Kagami is a field agent of ZECT who also works with Hiyori at Bistro La Salle. He has a good heart but is hot blooded and will often act without thinking about the repercussions of his actions. When the Kabuto Zecter is completed, Kagami attempted to become Kabuto but the Zector chose Tendou as its user. Being the only member of his group to know Tendou's identity as Kabuto, Kagami supported him much to the dismay of his team. While finding the restaurant filled with Matsuwa addressed to him, Kagami meets Jyuka as she takes him to the Tendou residence. By the time he realized he's slacking off, Arata runs off as Jyuka has him promise to come back as she tells him he's the first friend Tendou made.

But on his way back to the Bistro La Salle, Kagami meets Ryou whom he set up a meeting with tomorrow. However, Tendou contacted Misaki of this and she came to the conclusion that the Ryou that Kagami met is actually a Worm. The next day, Kagami confronts Tendou about it, telling him he'll kill the Worm himself if it's true. However, once Ryou reveals himself as the Bellcricetus Worm, the Worm that had killed and mimicked his brother, Kagami could not bring himself to kill it as its death would erase all that remained of Ryou. As Kabuto arrives to save, he doesn't fight back against the Bellcricetus Worm until Kagami is forced to allow him to kill the Worm. Losing the chance to honor his vow, Kagami makes a new one to suprass Tendou as he receives Ryou's baseball from him.

Kagami was later chosen by the TheBee Zecter to become Kamen Rider TheBee after it rejected the previous user, Sou Yaguruma, and reacted to his desperation to protect the wounded Shadow members. Kagami, however, gave up his role as TheBee after he was torn between the orders of ZECT to eliminate Kabuto and his budding friendship towards Tendou.

He later realized that Tendou did not want a friendship with him—after accepting this fact and renewing his pledge to destroy all Worms, Tendou let him back into his life. He was later framed by Shun Kageyama as being a traitor to ZECT, but this was simply to lure the real traitor out. He would have died if Tendou had not saved him. This incident ignites Kagami's will to destroy Worms on his own. Despite being only a field agent, he frequently takes on Worms armed only with his standard-issue collapsible pistol, or picks up a Machine Bladegun from a fallen ZECT Trooper. It is interesting to note that he is the first ZECT Agent to kill a Worm on his own by impaling it with the retractable bayonet of a Machine Bladegun on one occasion, and once with "Clocked-Up" help from Kabuto on another, which lead to a brief moment of bragging and re-telling the events which took place repeatedly, albeit with some exaggerations made and motivated other ZECT Troopers to join in.

Kamen Rider Gatack (仮面ライダーガタック, Kamen Raidā Gatakku?) is one of the main protagonists of Kamen Rider Kabuto. The motif is that of a "Kuwagatamushi" or stag beetle. The name is a portmanteau of "kuwagata" and "attack"

Forms

The Gatack Zecter (ガタックゼクター, Gatakku Zekutā?) allows Arata Kagami to transform into Kamen Rider Gatack. As with all of the Zecters, Gatack has two basic forms that he can transform into. Arata's Zecter has a higher-pitched voice than the other Zecters.

[edit] Masked Form033631

Gatack's Masked Form (マスクドフォーム, Masukudo Fōmu?) is a heavily armored form resembling a pupa. This is the default form that Gatack transforms into, until he opens up the horns on the Gatack Zecter, like a switch, to initiate the Cast Off (キャストオフ, Kyasuto Ofu?) command.[1]

[edit] Rider Formgatack

Gatack's Rider Form (ライダーフォーム, Raidā Fōmu?) is the sleeker and more offensive-based form which more resembles the stag beetle on which Gatack is named after and themed. It is in this form that Gatack has access to the Clock Up (クロックアップ, Kurokku Appu?) command which allows Gatack to travel at near-light speeds to match the speeds of the Worms. By pressing a button three times on the belt in succession, Gatack can perform his tachyon-powered Rider Kick (ライダーキック, Raidā Kikku?), a jumping roundhouse kick. Gatack also has a Rider Cutting (ライダーカッティング, Raidā Kattingu?) attack, where he takes the Gatack Double Calibers and uses them to perform a scissor-like cutting attack.[1]

[edit] Hyper Form k6_gatack_hyper_form

Gatack's Hyper Form (ハイパーフォーム, Haipā Fōmu?) was only seen in the Kamen Rider Kabuto Hyper Battle DVD Birth of Hyper Gatack. Its capabilities are the same as Kabuto Hyper Form.

Kamen Rider Kabuto (character)

Souji Tendouaaa

Souji Tendou (天道 総司, Tendō Sōji?, portrayed by Hiro Mizushima), the Zecter's wearer, is a mysterious, quiet 21-year old man who often seems to follow monk-like philosophies of peace. His name literally means "Path of Heaven" (天道, Tendō?), "Ruler of All" (総司, Sōji?)" and he always uses it to introduce himself ("Walking the path of Heaven, the man who will rule everything." (天の道を行き、総べてを司る男。, Ten no michi o Iki, Subete o Tsukasadoru otoko.?)). Tendou\ often spouts amazingly appropriate zen-like phrases he supposedly learned from his grandmother, prefacing them with "Grandmother used to say..." (お母ちゃんが言っていた, Obaachan ga Itteita?). He also often does a 'point to the sky' pose, usually after he defeats a Worm or introduces himself. Tendou has no actual job and does not attend college because he believes that he is destined for something bigger (which is becoming Kabuto). Despite having many talents (from cooking to hairstyling to excelling at various sports to the extent that he can handle entire teams alone), he is usually uninterested in pursuing anything until his belt activates. He calls himself a "National Treasure" and "Universal Treasure". Tendou stays in a big home with his little sister Juka, loves cooking, and seems to have an interest in Kagami's co-worker, Hiyori. As a result, he is a regular customer at Bistro La Salle. Because of his abilities and outlook, combined with his talent of being a step ahead of those around him, Tendou is somewhat rude, and exceedingly arrogant at first glance. However, this serious personality holds back the caring emotions he has for others. His feelings for his two sisters are among the few things that can break his serious demeanor, as Hiyori Kusakabe is also Souji's little sister. However, Souji's parents were murdered and mimicked by Natives years before the Worms arrived on Earth, and although the original Hiyori Kusakabe died with them before birth she was soon "reborn" as a Native/Worm.

Masked FormKabutoMaskedForm

Kabuto's Masked Form (マスクドフォーム, Masukudo Fōmu?) is a heavily armored form resembling a pupa that has very little offensive capabilities. This is the default form that Kabuto transforms into, until he flips the "horn" on the Kabuto Zecter, like a switch, to initiate the Cast Off (キャストオフ, Kyasuto Ofu?) command. This primes the armor to "cast off," then, when fully activated, sends the armor flying off his form, destroying all lower Worms that make contact with the armor. Once this happens, Kabuto then immediately takes on the sleek Rider Form.[1]

[edit] Rider Formvvv

Kabuto's Rider Form (ライダーフォーム, Raidā Fōmu?) is the sleeker and more offensive-based form which more resembles the Japanese rhinoceros beetle on which Kabuto is named after and themed. It is in this form that Kabuto has access to the Clock Up (クロックアップ, Kurokku Appu?) command which allows Kabuto to travel at near-light speeds to match the speeds of the Worms. By pressing three buttons on the belt in succession, Kabuto can perform his tachyon-powered Rider Kick (ライダーキック, Raidā Kikku?). Kabuto Rider Form has three variations of Rider Kick: normal 180 degree roundhouse kick, counter kick (360 degree roundhouse kick, used to surprise opponents who are trying to attack him from behind), and flying side kick.[1]

[edit] Hyper Formzzz

Kabuto is the only Rider in Kabuto (with the exception of Gatack in the Hyper Battle DVD with the aid of another Hyper Zecter from the future) who can achieve Hyper Form (ハイパーフォーム, Haipā Fōmu?), a stronger version of Rider Form. While Kamen Rider Caucasus used the Hyper Zecter, he was unable to utilize Hyper Form or Hyper Clock Up. Accessed through the Hyper Zecter (ハイパーゼクター, Haipā Zekutā?), a futuristic Zecter made by ZECT and predestined to be used by Tendou, it activates the Hyper Cast Off (ハイパーキャストオフ, Haipā Kyasuto Ofu?) command to unleash its full power. It also has the Hyper Clock Up (ハイパークロックアップ, Haipā Kurokku Appu?), a much faster version of the Clock Up able to travel through time due to its hypersonic speed properties. The maximum range of this time travel is unknown, but it has shown to be able to travel back at least seven years. Kabuto is also able to take objects back in time with him, the most impressive example being a huge meteor in the movie. His finisher in this form is the Flying Rider Kick Hyper Kick (ハイパーキック, Haipā Kikku?). While the original Hyper Zecter from the present was destroyed by Zect to prevent Tendou from getting it, one from the future appeared in his hand to replace it. It is also equipped with a jetpack-like device on the back, allowing Kabuto to fly in this form, though its usually only used to gain height for the Hyper Kick but his alternate self from God Speed Love, he used this device to fly through space, even pushing a meteor far larger than himself.[2]

Story

Ten thousand years ago, a massive battle known as the Battle Royal was fought by fifty-two Undead, each representing a species fighting for dominance over all others. The winner was the Human Undead, known as Category Two of Hearts, giving dominion of the Earth to humanity. In the present day, archaeologists discover the sealed Undead, and accidentally set them free. Thus, a new Battle Royal begins.

Having developed the Rider System, based on the Joker's ability to copy sealed Undead, the organization BOARD (Board Of Archaeological Research Department) equips two young men, who become Kamen Riders: Kazuma Kenzaki and Sakuya Tachibana fight together as Kamen Rider Blade and Kamen Rider Garren to protect humans from Undead and seal them. Also fighting Undead is the mysterious Chalice, a Kamen Rider whose purpose is unknown. In addition, a young man struggles to free himself from the control of the sealed Undead powering his own Undead-made Rider System, fighting as Kamen Rider Leangle.

Missing Ace

Kamen Rider Blade The Movie: Missing Ace (劇場版 仮面ライダー剣 MISSING ACE, Gekijōban Kamen Raidā Bureido Misshingu Ēsu?) is the theatrical release, first in theaters on September 11, 2004.

Four years after an alternate ending to the series, in which Blade seals the Joker, the characters have moved on with their lives: Kenzaki is a garbage man, Mutsuki has graduated high school, and Kotarō has published a book about the Kamen Riders to great success, but on Amane's upcoming birthday, it was revealed that she has become a delinquent without the emotional support of Hajime. The Undead have been re-released, and a new trio of Kamen Riders—Glaive, Larc and Lance—have emerged from BOARD, now led by Tachibana. After recapturing two of the Category Aces, Kenzaki and Mutsuki join with the new Riders. When all the Undead are sealed once more, Glaive reveals himself to be the Albino Joker, a white version of the original Joker, and captures Kotarō's niece to obtain the ultimate power, sealing her in the Vanity Card. In order to free Amane from the card, Hajime is unsealed from the Joker Card and the four Riders are again united, intent on saving Amane and stopping the Albino Joker.
[edit] Specials

Kamen Rider Blade: Blade vs. Blade is a Hyper Battle Video, wherein a Trial-series cyborg pretends to be Kenzaki, who quickly discovers the fraud and fights him. During their battle, the other Riders bicker humorously about which Blade is the fake, which constantly results in their attacking the real Kenzaki. As with all Hyper Battle Videos, this serves as a device to exposit the Rider's various powers and abilities.

Kamen Rider Blade: New Generation is a television special made of a collection of vignettes which aired following certain episodes of Blade, following the history of Kamen Riders Glaive, L'arc, and Lance. This is a direct tie-in to the movie Missing Ace.
[edit] S.I.C. Hero Saga

The S.I.C. Hero Saga side story for Blade is titled Kamen Rider Blade: Day After Tomorrow (仮面ライダー剣 -DAY AFTER TOMORROW-, Kamen Raidā Bureido: DAY AFTER TOMORROW?) follows the story of the series after the finale and features characters from Missing Ace. The new character introduced in the story is Joker (Kazuma Kenzaki ver.) (ジョーカー(剣崎一真ver.), Jōkā (Kenzaki Kazuma ver.)?). Two other special editions of the Hero Saga stories also feature Blade characters: Hero Saga Special Edition: King featuring Kamen Rider Garren King Form (仮面ライダーギャレン・キングフォーム, Kamen Raidā Gyaren Kingu Fōmu?) and Hero Saga Special Edition: Clover featuring Kamen Rider Leangle Jack Form (仮面ライダーレンゲル・ジャックフォーム, Kamen Raidā Rengeru Jakku Fōmu?). Kamen Rider 555

Kamen Rider 555 (仮面ライダー555(ファイズ), Kamen Raidā Faizu?, Kamen Rider Faiz, Masked Rider Φ's) is a Japanese tokusatsu television series. It is the 13th installment in the Kamen Rider Series. It is a joint collaboration between Ishimori Productions and Toei, and was broadcast on TV Asahi from January 26, 2003 to January 18, 2004. The catchphrase for the series is "Racing Instinct." (疾走する本能, Shissō Suru Honnō?).

The Smart Brain Corporation, the world's most powerful corporation, is trying to take over the world using Orphnoch, the next stage in humanity's evolution, to covertly kill off the human population. In pursuit of this, they develop three suits of power armor, called Rider Gear (Delta, Faiz, and Kaixa), to find and protect the Orphnoch King, who can fix a defect within Orphnoch DNA which causes their genetic structure to break down, leading to death.

The Rider Gears are stolen by Hanagata, the Goat Orphnoch and former President of Smart Brain Corporation. He sends them to his foster children (dubbed the Ryuseiji, after the school they attended) so they can stop the Orphnoch from achieving their goal. However, Rider Gears were designed to be worn by Orphnoch, and humans are unable to activate the systems without undergoing genetic modification.

A young loner, Takumi Inui, is unwillingly drawn into the conflict between the Orphnoch and humans and becomes Kamen Rider Faiz to save the life of Mari Sonoda, one of the Ryuseiji. The Smart Brain Corporation begins targeting him in an attempt to retrieve the Faiz Gear.

However, there is division amongst the Orphnoch, as those who wish to co-exist with humans rather than kill them, begin resisting Smart Brain, who in turn targets them as well. Most of these "renegade" Orphnochs are either killed, remain neutral or begin siding with the Ryuseiji against the Smart Brain Corporation.

When the Tokyo police discover the Orphnoch are behind a series of bizarre murders, they begin operations to defeat the creatures, largely unaware of the various factions involved. They even begin performing experiments on captured Orphnoch in an attempt to find ways of destroying them, though this does not go well.

The Orphnoch King eventually awakens within a young boy named Teruo, whom Naoya Kaido and Keitaro Kikuchi saved and befriended. Now, it is up to the holders of the Rider Gears to band together and fight for humanity's survival.

[edit] Movies and specials

* Kamen Rider Ryuki The Movie: Episode Final (劇場版 仮面ライダー龍騎 EPISODE FINAL, Gekijōban Kamen Raidā Ryūki Episōdo Fainaru?)

This movie is an alternate ending to the series, taking place after the events of episode 46. With only six Riders remaining in the Rider War: five of the six, Ryuki (Shinji Kido), Knight (Ren Akiyama), Zolda (Shuichi Kitaoka), Ouja (Takeshi Asakura), and Femme (Miho Kirishima), Shirō Kanzaki alerts them to quickly settle the Rider War within three days. One of them must win and become the last survivor before the sixth surviving rider reveals himself. Amidst the impending chaos of the fight between the Riders, Shinji discovers an unbelievable truth about the relationship between Yui Kanzaki and the Mirror World, as well as discovering the existence of his Mirror World doppelganger, Kamen Rider Ryuga.

* Kamen Rider Ryuki Special: 13 Riders (仮面ライダー龍騎スペシャル 13RIDERS, Kamen Raidā Ryūki Supessharu Sātin Raidāsu?)

This television special is an alternate telling of the Kamen Rider Ryuki story. Shinji Kidou's life, working as an employee at ORE Journal, takes a sharp turn after being pulled into the Mirror World by a Mispider. Luckily, he was saved by a Kamen Rider, Ryuki (Kōichi Sakakibara). However, Sakakibara could no longer go on due to the harshness of his injuries and passed his Card Deck to Shinji, allowing him to become the next Ryuki to survive and defeat the monster. After meeting with Yui Kanzaki and Ren Akiyama (Kamen Rider Knight), Shinji learns about the conditions of the Rider War, as well as of the other Riders participating. Unable to allow such a game of death to exist like his Rider predecessor, Shinji sets out to convince all the Riders to end the senseless fighting and put an end to the War. His pleas fall upon deaf ears as just about every other Rider (except for the already-defeated Riders Raia and Scissors) sets out to hunt down Shinji and his eventual reluctant ally, Ren. Eventually, Shinji's deck is destroyed and Ren is critically injured, passing on the deck for Kamen Rider Knight to Shinji. The special has two different endings which were voted on by the viewers via phone at the time of the initial airing: the voted-for-air ending (in which Shinji faces the surviving Riders on his own) and the alternate ending (a resetting of the Rider War).

Kamen Rider Ryuki and Knight Survive Form

Kamen Rider Ouja

Kamen Rider Ouja (仮面ライダー王蛇, Kamen Raidā Ōja?, [Note 1]) is a fictional character in the tokusatsu production Kamen Rider Ryuki. He is the sixth of the 13 Kamen Riders the story revolves around. His true identity is Takeshi Asakura and is portrayed by Takashi Hagino.

By default, Kamen Rider Ouja is a melee-based Rider. The fighting style of his alter ego, Takeshi Asakura, helped him in his victories more often than any of his Advent cards, although more than anything else, he used his Sword Vent card to summon a spiral sword. Once Ouja defeated Kamen Riders Gai and Raia, he had access to both their contract monsters and their Advent cards, turning the already homicidal Ouja into an even more dangerous force to be reckoned with.

At age 13, Takeshi Asakura murdered his entire family in a fire, though his younger brother survived. Since then, Asakura developed a reputation as a sadistic felon with a love to fight and kill in his random fits of rage. As a result of his sadistic nature, prior to becoming a Rider, Asakura was personally responsible for both ending the piano career of Tezuka's friend Yuichi Saito and the murder of Miho Kirishima's older sister. Eventually, his arrogant personality results with his defense attorney, Shuichi Kitaoka refusing to represent him and left him to rot in jail. Because he was in prison and could not feed his destructive nature, Takeshi gladly accepted Kanzaki's offer to join the Rider War and forms a pact with Venosnaker, using his new found powers as Ouja in its many forms to break out of jail, avoid the law, and get his revenge on Kitaoka. Ouja fought only to fight and was the first Rider to actually kill other Riders, his first being Kamen Rider Gai who he killed senselessly when the latter's plan of getting Zolda, Ryuki, Raia, and Knight all in one place to finish them off failed. After killing Raia, Ouja takes both his and Gai's Contract Monsters as his own.

Ren helped Asakura fake his death once so he can fight in the Rider War without police interference. But when he was publicly revealed to be alive, Asakura was soon later captured, going in and out of jail for several instances. In one such case, he uses Metalgelas while in a police van to dispose of his police captors before escaping into the Mirror World. After a fight with Kamen Rider Survive Ryuki and Kamen Rider Tiger, he had been seriously injured and handed back to the authorities once again by Shinji. Soon he escaped again, with aid of his lawyer at that time whom he had knocked out and switched clothes with the lawyer to escape.

During the series, he came under fire from his three monsters when they were hungry for life energy. They came close to devouring Asakura if not for his strong determination. After hunting down three Mirror Monsters, Ouja was able to feed his contract monsters. Kamen Rider Knight and Zolda tried to prevent his monsters from feeding so that they would turn on him and remove Asakura from the Rider War. But Kamen Rider Ryuki intervened and allowed the monsters to feed because Asakura had actually saved a small girl from the three monsters they hunted.

Upon learning of Kitaoka's identity as a Rider, he formed a personal grudge against him that manifested in many attempts to harm him. The two would fight many times throughout the series. Miyuki Tezuka (Kamen Rider Raia) also held a personal grudge against Asakura for ending the piano career of his friend, Yuichi Saito. Later in the series, Asakura would also form a personal grudge against Satoru Tojo after he attempted to kill him in the Mirror World. When Shinji, Ren, Asakura and Kitaoka met under the bridge to finally settle the Rider War, Tojo appeared and spilled gasoline onto the car through which they entered the Mirror World, as a way to trap them inside the mirrors. However, they were able to escape in time, with Asakura starting the car and causing an explosion. But somehow, he managed to get out of the incident without any burns or injuries, with his grudge even stronger.

At the end of the series, Asakura finally has his showdown with Zolda. Ouja, using his "Doomsday" Final Vent, destroys Magnugiga before fatally injuring Zolda. Though happy with his victory, Ouja finds out seconds later that "Zolda" was actually Goro, as Kitaoka gave him his vent deck prior to succumbing to his cancer during the fight. Just as he returned to the real world in utter disarray of being denied the right to kill the man he hated the most, Asakura finds himself surrounded by the authorities in the warehouse he was in with snipers covering them. Defiant to the end, Asakura grabs a metal rod and runs at the cops screaming as they gun him down, brought to justice at last.

But because Kanzaki restored time to its proper course after Yui's death, Asakura was given a second chance in life with no memory of being a Rider and keeping a low profile.

In the movie, Episode Final, Asakura was targeted by Miho Kirishima, who became Kamen Rider Femme to hunt him down for revenge. Though she was outmatched by the stronger opponent, she was saved by Kamen Rider Ryuga who used Dragblacker to knock down Genocider during its Doomsday attack. Ouja was knocked down by Ryuga who then used his Final Vent to destroy Genocider. The destruction of Genocider reverted Ouja to Blank Form. Weakened, Femme stabbed right at Ouja's blank deck, destroying it. Shortly, Ouja's armor disintegrated and Asakura dissolved into the Mirror World as he attempted to take Miho down with him.

Kamen Rider Knight

Kamen Rider Knight's name, Naito (ナイト?) also sounds like the English "Night", which could also refer to his color scheme which reflects darkness and nighttime (his color is dark navy). Also, his monster's motif is based on a nocturnal creature. While in his Survive form he has a cape on constantly, making him one of the few Kamen Riders in the entire franchise to wear a cape. His special element seems to be wind.

Ren Akiyama is a cold loner who fights constantly and is frequently unemployed. He received his Advent Deck before the start of the series. He accepted Kanzaki's offer to join the Rider War to give his fiancé, Eri Ogawa, a full recovery, who has been in a mysterious coma ever since an encounter with Darkwing. Ren later contracted with Darkwing and became Kamen Rider Knight.

After Shinji Kido, he would still persist to fight any and all Riders. But the ordeal of his memory loss had him leave the Atori Cafe to clear his head. Meeting Miyuki Tezuka, who reveals himself as Raia, while pointing out that though he accepted his fate as a Kamen Rider, Ren had doubts in his heart if he could actually take a life (as seen when he felt broken after stabbing one of Shiro's decoy Kamen Rider Odins through his body). He later inherited the Survive Shippu Card from Tezuka.

Over time he eventually softened up and slowly came to return Shinji's constant offers of friendship. Throughout the series they formed a somewhat of a rivalry, which Ren took more seriously than Shinji because of the Rider War.

Shiro eventually declares him as the last Rider. All the other Riders had died, but it was Shinji's death in Episode 49 that devastated him, as he had finally accepted Shinji as his best friend. Ironically enough however, Shinji's dying words galvanized Ren into bringing the war to an end. Shiro Kanzaki brought him to fight the remaining Rider, Kamen Rider Odin. As Ren was about to lose, Shiro Kanzaki was tormented by his sister Yui Kanzaki's words, and self-destroyed Odin, thus making Ren the final Rider. The wish appeared, and Ren used it to save Eri's life as he had originally intended. Returning to the hospital where Eri laid, she wakes up to see Ren's engagement ring on her finger, and a loyal Ren, apparently sleeping on the floor. Unbeknownst to her at the time, the battle with Odin had proved too much, and though it is not clearly stated, it's suggested that he died. After Shiro restored time to its proper course after Yui's death, Ren and Shinji gained a new life with no memory of being Riders, thus they are unable to recognize each other in one of the final scenes of the series. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shinji Kido

Kamen Rider Ryuki (仮面ライダー龍騎, Kamen Raidā Ryūki?) is a fictional character in the tokusatsu production Kamen Rider Ryuki. He is the second of the 13 Kamen Riders the story revolves around. He is the eponymous character, and the main protagonist. His true identity is Shinji Kido and is portrayed by Takamasa Suga. His name, given by Kamen Rider Knight after their first team up, Ryuki (龍騎?), literally means "Dragon Knight" in Japanese. He is one of the few main Kamen Riders in the franchise not to resemble an insect in his transformed state, though he still has the ever-recognizable bug eyes as part of his helmet design.[1][2][3]

Kamen Rider Ryuki is a "balanced" Rider with equally powerful melee and far-range fighting capabilities. His special element seems to be fire, given his dragon's augmentation to his armor. His most used weapon is his Sword Vent, modeled after a Chinese Dao sword, and his Final Vent is a flying side kick called "Dragon Rider Kick", which is a playoff from the usual "Rider Kick" the original Kamen Riders used.

Shinji is good-hearted, friendly, naive idealist who works at the ORE Journal as a journalist trainee aiding in the New Group's investigation behind the "missing persons" crisis that had with the latest victim being Megumi Ida. While checking on the list of missing persons, Shinji investigates the apartment of Kōichi Sakakibara, a man who disappeared two months prior, finding a deck of cards lying on the ground before being attacked by a monster that emerged from the Mirror World, Dragredder. However, the card deck not only protected him but allowed him to sense things when he feels that Reiko is in danger, ending up in the Mirror World where he encounters another monster, Dispider. He tries to escape the monster as it overwhelms him until he is saved by Kamen Rider Knight who defeats the monster before he and Shinji are ambushed by Dragreder, with the two barely able to get back to the real world in time. Once coming to, Shinji finds himself in the Atori cafe where he formally meets Yui Kanzaki and Knight's human identity, Ren Akiyama, who tries to take the Ryuki deck from him with Yui explaining to him of the Mirror Monsters and that he's targeted by Dragreder. Shinji understands Reiko's reasons for investigating the missing persons case, only to run into Ren who is following him to get Drageder before Yui contacts Ren about the reformed Dispider. Following Ren, and seeing the daughter of a woman who was devoured by the monster, Shinji learns that he can fight once he forms a contract with a Mirror Monster. Though warned that he'll be beyond the point of return if he commits it, Shinji uses the Contact card Yui gives him to form his pact with Dragredder, becoming Kamen Rider Ryuki to save Knight and destroy Dispider with Dragredder feeding on the monster's essence. But once the fight ends, Ryuki is suddenly attacked by Knight, who beats Ryuki until Yui indirectly interferes and threatens to leave him. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kamen Rider Ryuki

Kamen Rider Ryuki (仮面ライダー龍騎, Kamen Raidā Ryūki?, Masked Rider Ryuki) is a Japanese tokusatsu television series. It was the twelfth installment in the Kamen Rider Series of tokusatsu shows. It was a joint collaboration between Ishimori Productions and Toei, and it was shown on TV Asahi from February 3, 2002 to January 19, 2003. The catchphrase for the series is "Those who don't fight won't survive!!" (戦わなければ、生き残れない!!, Tatakawanakereba, ikinokorenai!!?). In the same vein as Power Rangers, Ryuki has been adapted into an English language series titled Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight.[1] Dragon Knight is the first adaptation of a Kamen Rider Series in the United States since Saban's Masked Rider in 1996.

Synopsis

Thirteen Advent Card decks were created for thirteen Kamen Riders. They make Contracts with monsters from the mysterious Mirror World (ミラーワールド, Mirā Wārudo?), a parallel dimension opposite to our own in which only the Kamen Riders can exist. The Riders draw on their monsters' strength in exchange for feeding them the life force of the creatures they destroy. The creator of the Advent Cards has only one rule: that there can be only one Kamen Rider. The others must be killed, and the sole victor will be granted a single wish, which leads to a conflict known as the Rider War.

All over the city, innocent people are being mysteriously abducted, never to be seen again. During his investigations of these incidents, Shinji Kido- an intern at the online news service ORE Journal- discovers one of the Advent Card decks at an apartment where every reflective surface has been covered by newspaper. He is soon sucked into the Mirror World, discovering the terrifying truth behind the disappearances: people are literally being pulled through mirrors by the monsters of the Mirror World so that they may feed. He is about to be killed by a powerful dragon named Dragredder when he is saved by Kamen Rider Knight: Ren Akiyama. Ren seeks to win the Rider War at all costs. He works with a young woman named Yui Kanzaki, who seeks her missing brother: the master of the Rider War, Shirō Kanzaki. Seeing Ren's strength, Shinji enters the Rider War not for the prize, but so that he may protect innocent people from the threat of the Mirror World, and stop the senseless fighting between the Kamen Riders. With Dragredder as his Contract Monster, he becomes Kamen Rider Ryuki.
